We’ve weathered two long months of quarantine, doing our best to stay fit at home with virtual workouts and training sessions, but the time has come to return to the gym. TruFit clubs will be opening up soon, but things will look a little differently in our clubs than they did before. To protect the wellbeing of our members, we’ve laid out some new safety practices like social distancing, enhanced cleaning, and increased sanitation. We’re all in this together, and it’s everyone’s responsibility to do their part to flatten the curve. Here are some ways you can continue to stay safe once you return to our clubs.
Be Ready for Check-In
To comply with new rules put forth by the state of Texas, we’ve updated our check-in process. We’ve moved to contactless check-in to reduce interactions. Be sure to have your TruFit app (available on Google Play and Apple App Store) up and ready for easy check-in when you enter. Please be mindful of others and stay home if you feel unwell or are exhibiting any symptoms of an illness. Everyone’s health and safety is our top priority!
Disinfect to Protect
Once our clubs reopen, cleaning will be happening around the clock to reduce germs. However, we can’t be everywhere at once! We’re asking all of our members to be extra cautious, and clean equipment both before and after use. Whether it’s a (socially distant) group fitness class, a personal training session, or just a solo workout on the machines; we ask that everyone sanitizes their hands before any training session.
Workout Together, but A Part
We’ve all heard that social distancing is our best defense against the virus, and we’re taking it seriously. Things may look a little different in our fitness centers because we’re taking steps to make social distancing a little easier to practice. In our fitness centers, we will be shutting down certain machines at different intervals of the day to make sure everyone can stay 6 feet apart while they exercise. We ask that members adhere to any posted signage during this time and do their part to stay 6 feet away from each other at all times.
Wearing the Right Personal Protective Equipment
We’re taking extra precautions to keep our members safe. That’s why each of our staff members will be wearing protective masks and gloves. Texas law currently states that all of our members are required to wear gloves, while masks are optional (but highly recommended). Masks have been shown to help protect against the spread of the virus, especially if both parties who come into contact with each other are wearing them. Taking this extra precaution can help us slow the spread and make sure gyms are able to stay open during this time.
We’re in This Together
During these unprecedented times, it’s important that we work together to flatten the curve. The TruFit team is taking every possible measure to make it easy to follow these new guidelines and keep both our staff and members healthy. Our clubs are scheduled to open May 18th, and we’re excited to sweat together with all of our members again. Check with your local TruFit and watch our social media for more news and information.
